The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is looking into an officer-involved shooting that took place in Jackson on Sunday.
Around 4 p.m., Capitol Police attempted to pull over a car in the area of Porter Street and University Boulevard before being led on a brief chase. When they reached Winter Street, the driver got out and started firing shots at police.
Officers returned gunfire, striking the driver. He was transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. His identity has not been released at this time, and no officers are being reported as injured.
