According to officials with the Jackson Police Department, detectives learned that a maroon 2016 GMC Sierra pickup truck had been taken after McNair was killed. Officers spotted the suspect before a chase ensued. A second vehicle is also reported to have crashed during the chase.
Wade said Lindsey confessed to killing McNair. The teen shot the victim multiple times with a pink assault rifle, drug McNair out of the vehicle, and confiscated the man’s wallet before driving off in the truck. Police confiscated the murder weapon at the scene of the crash.
“This was very disturbing on so many levels because so many people in northeast Jackson use that park,” Wade said during a Wednesday afternoon press conference.
A motive for the shooting has not been released.
