On Wednesday, Olympic Gold Medalist and Sandhill Community native, Tori Bowie, was honored with a sign on the Highway 43 exit ramp in Rankin County.
Bowie competed in the 2016 Summer Olympics where she won a bronze medal in the 200-meter dash, silver in the 100-meter dash and gold in the 4×100 meter relay race.
She was also recognized with a House Concurrent Resolution from the Mississippi House of Representatives for all her accomplishments.
Representative Mark Baker, who attended the sign unveiling, said he applauds her success and commends her for being a part of what makes Mississippi great.
Representative Tom Miles, who was also there, thanked Supervisor Steve Gaines, the Sandhill Community, MDOT, Rankin County Board Of Supervisors, the Legislature and everyone for all their hard work to help get this well deserved recognition for Tori.
