The accolades continue to roll in for Ole Miss wide receiver Elijah Moore.
The NFL-bound receiver was named a first-team All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation—his fourth such honor making him the 13th consensus All-American in Ole Miss football history and the first since DB Senquez Golson in 2014.
In just eight games, Moore finished the 2020 season leading the nation with 149.1 yards and 10.8 receptions per game while also breaking A.J. Brown’s program single-season record with 86 catches. His yardage total of 1,193 fell just 127 yards short of Brown’s record of 1,320. For his career, Moore came up 13 catches shy of Laquon Treadwell’s program record 202.
He finishes his time Oxford tied for third in receptions (189), fourth in receiving yardage (2,441) and sixth in receiving touchdowns (16).
The Fort Lauderdale native opted out of the final two games of the season as he began his preparation for the 2021 NFL Draft in April. At the time of his decision, ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. had Moore on his ‘Big Board’ of his top 25 prospects and that praise continued earlier this week.
“I would think he’s going to play like a first-rounder when he’s in the NFL,” Kiper said on ‘ESPN’s First Draft’ podcast after calling Moore “tremendously undervalued.”
Kiper’s draft counterpart Todd McShay said that the 5’9, 185-pound receiver would likely wind up between picks 20-32 in his upcoming mock drafts.
