After four games on the SEC slate were pushed back this past Saturday due to COVID-19, Ole Miss’ scheduled visit to College Station this weekend has now been postponed.
Texas A&M was among the affected programs on Saturday, and according to the university, the program remains below the SEC’s 53-player threshold due to a combination of positive tests and contact tracing.
Because A&M was forced to push its matchup with Tennessee to December 12, the week left open by the SEC, the new date for the Ole Miss-Texas A&M matchup “will be evaluated”
Ole Miss Athletics noted that December 19th, the day of the SEC Championship Game, is an option.
The Rebels improved to 3-4 on the season Saturday with a 59-42 win over South Carolina. Following the loss, the Gamecocks have since fired head coach Will Muschamp.
The postponement of this weekend’s game means that the Rebels won’t take the field until the Egg Bowl on November 28th.
