The Ole Miss softball team is headed to California to take on the UCLA Bears in the NCAA super regional. The three game series will determine who takes the next steps toward the NCAA College World Series. The UCLA series takes place Thursday-Saturday in Los Angeles.A 7-2 win over North Carolina has put the Rebels on a course to play the winner of UCLA/Cal State Fullerton as Ole Miss advances to the NCAA super regional this week.
“The last three weeks have been surreal for our program. It’s been pretty amazing to sit back as the head coach of this program and watch these ladies perform, they just amaze me everyday,” said Head Coach of the Ole Miss girls softball team Mike Smith.
The Ole Miss Rebels softball team has been on fire this season, and head coach Mike Smith makes it look like second nature for these women. However, the pay off didn’t come overnight.
“It’s been a lot of fun, it’s been tough, it’s been a grind and there’s a lot of work to do,” said Smith.
