According to Cross, the new contract would raise Kiffin’s salary by around $2 million. Kiffin is currently the nation’s 11th highest paid coach with a base salary of $7.25 million, which does not include incentives.
“I think you’re looking in the $9 million a year range in terms of annual average value as to what Ole Miss has offered Lane Kiffin,” Cross said.
Since taking the Ole Miss job in 2019, Kiffin has put together an impressive 23-10 record and is on the verge of leading the Rebels to their first back-to-back 10-win regular seasons in program history.
Auburn, on the other hand, is looking to replace Bryan Harsin who was fired on October 31 after compiling an overall record of 9-12 with the Tigers. As of now, no offer has been presented to Kiffin from Auburn.
