JACKSON, Miss.–On Sunday night official bowl game matchups were announced with both Ole Miss and Mississippi State headed to the state of Tennessee.
Ole Miss (7-5 3-5) will be taking on Georgia Tech (7-5 5-3) from the Atlantic Coast Conference in the Franklin American Mortgage Music City bowl.
“We are excited to accept an invitation to the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl and continue our outstanding bowl tradition,” said Ole Miss Athletics Director Ross Bjork. “I want to congratulate our coaches and student-athletes for their hard work, focus and commitment to return our program to postseason play for the second straight year.”
The game will kickoff on December 30th at 2:15 p.m. and will be carried nationally by ESPN.
As for Mississippi State (6-6 3-5), coming off and Egg Bowl victory, they’re headed to Memphis for the AutoZone Liberty Bowl to take on Rice (10-3 7-1) from Conference USA.
“Our seniors have done something no one here has ever done, and that’s play in four-straights bowls,” said Mullen, who has guided Mississippi State to a 2-1 postseason ledger. “That’s special. This is a reward for all the hard work that started back in August, and I know our players, coaches and fans look forward to going to Memphis and playing another game.”
The bulldogs are set to kickoff on New Year’s Eve at 3:00 p.m. CT on ESPN.
