Ole Miss women’s basketball star Madison Scott has been named SEC Co-Player of the Week after helping the Lady Rebels to two overtime wins in four days.
Scott, a senior out of Indian Head, Md., went off for a career-high 27 points against Florida on Thursday. Her 12 rebounds made for the fifth double-double of the season for Scott as Ole Miss won 77-67 in Gainesville.
Back at home against rival Mississippi State on Sunday, Scott scored nine of her 20 points in the fourth quarter and hit a game-tying layup to send it into overtime. The Lady Rebels went on to beat the Lady Bulldogs 75-71. Scott added nine rebounds and three assists to round out her stat line.
The latest accolade for Scott marks the second time this season she has been named the conference’s player of the week. This time around, she shares the award with South Carolina’s Kamilla Cardoso.
Scott is averaging 11.7 points and 6.2 rebounds per game as Ole Miss will be back in action on Thursday against Georgia. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT in Oxford.
