After finishing the 2020 season with the nation’s third-best offense, it was imperative for Ole Miss to re-sign offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby, and that’s exactly what they did on Tuesday.
Inking Lebby to a two-year deal put to rest all rumors that he was heading to replace Steve Sarkisian at Alabama.
“Coach Lebby did an incredible job managing our offense and preparing Matt (Corral) every game,” Head Coach Lane Kiffin said. “Coach Lebby brings the innovative mentality we want in our program, and we look forward to building on the historic success of this season’s offense.”
En route to an Outback Bowl victory over No. 7 Indiana, Lebby guided the Ole Miss offense to over 550 yards and almost 40 points per game this past season—good enough to be named as a finalist for the Broyles Award, honoring the nation’s best assistant coach.
The Rebels, who also received good news today that four key players would be returning for the 2021 season, will kick off the 2021 season against Louisville in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game in Atlanta.
