The Ole Miss baseball team will open the 2025 campaign out west once again.
Mike Bianco’s club will begin action at Globe Life Field in Dallas as part of the Shriners Children’s College Showdown in a weekend series from February 14-16. The Rebels will take on Arizona that Friday, Texas on Saturday, and Clemson on Sunday.
Ole Miss opened up the 2021 season at Globe Life Park and went a perfect 3-0 throughout the tournament. The Rebels will look to achieve the same feat this coming season.

Ole Miss last played Arizona in the 2022 Coral Gables Regional and trounced the Wildcats 22-6 to advance to super regional play. The Rebels’ last outing against the now-conference foe Longhorns was an 8-1 Ole Miss victory in the same tournament the two are poised to face off in to begin the 2025 season. Bianco’s squad most recently squared off against Clemson on the diamond in the 2019 Oxford Regional. Ole Miss won that contest 6-1.
The Rebels will open the season with some novelty on the coaching staff as Bianco, for the first time in his 25 years at the helm, has delegated pitch-calling duties to Brandon native Joel Mangrum. After an underwhelming 2024 campaign, Bianco will look to right the ship and reach postseason play for the first time in two years — using the Shriners Children’s College Showdown as an opportunity to add quality wins early.
