The Ole Miss baseball team’s home opener has been moved up due to weather-related travel concerns for the visiting Arkansas State Red Wolves.
First pitch will take place from Swayze Field on Tuesday at 2 p.m. CT — two hours earlier than previously scheduled — to allow the opposing squad to hit the road earlier as forecasts project a high likelihood of a winter storm hitting Jonesboro, Ark. in the evening.
Per a release from the host university, ticket holders will receive an email regarding additional information on parking and security changes on Tuesday at 8 a.m. As for game-time conditions in Oxford, it will be a cold one at the ballpark. The National Weather Service is projecting a high of 46 degrees by 2 p.m. with the temperature steadily dropping into the evening, putting Oxford under a winter weather advisory.
Ole Miss comes into the contest with a 2-1 record after a mostly successful weekend on the diamond in the Lone Star State. A recap of the 2025 debut series can be found here. TheRebels’ home opener will be streamed live on SEC Network+ and aired on participating SuperTalk Mississippi stations.
