Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin cemented his coaching staff on Friday evening by hiring Mississippi State defensive backs coach Terrell Buckley and retaining defensive line coach Freddie Roach.
It was reported earlier this week that Roach was headed to the NFL to join Bulldog alumnus and newly-minted Giants head coach Joe Judge’s staff, but the school announced on Friday that Roach will remain in Oxford. Alex Marvez of SiriusXM NFL first reported Roach to the Giants. Kiffin keeping Roach in Oxford keeps him in the mix for four-star defensive tackle McKinnley Jackson out of George County and also keeps general continuity with regards to the 2020 signing class. Roach has been on the road recruiting for Kiffin from the moment he was hired.
