A Monday morning officer-involved shooting in Laurel has resulted in the arrest of two individuals, according to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI).
Officers with the Laurel Police Department were approaching a vehicle that was occupied by three individuals near South 4th Avenue at 4:29 a.m. when one of the occupants allegedly began reaching for an object believed to be a weapon.
LPD officers then began shooting at the car, causing injury to one of the occupant’s arms before being transporting the subject to a local hospital.
An additional occupant was arrested shortly after while the third suspect fled from the scene on foot and has not been found.
No other serious physical injuries were reported from the LPD.
