An officer-involved shooting that took place in Canton on Tuesday night has resulted in the deaths of two individuals, including the suspect.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) reported that the incident involving the Madison County Sheriff’s Department occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the area of Oakfield Boulevard in Canton.
Deputies responded to a call for service regarding a domestic disturbance at a home where it is believed the involved subject had fatally injured another individual at this scene.

Once found, the subject allegedly pulled a weapon on officers. The subject, later identified as 24-year-old Ladarrius Johnson, then reportedly shot and killed himself.
In total, three victims were wounded during the incident, with one of the individuals later passing from their injuries. Madison County Coroner Alex Breeland has since identified the deceased individual as 34-year-old Tiara Scott.
No deputies involved received any serious physical injuries during the incident.
MBI is currently assessing the shooting and gathering evidence. Upon completing the investigation, agents will share their findings with the attorney general’s office.
