JACKSON, Miss. — More than 35,000 Mississippians have signed up for health coverage on the state’s online exchange.
But of that number, The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says just over 8,000 actually selected a plan, and the majority of them are women.
The bulk of the new enrollees, 61 percent, came in December, after repairs were made to the HealthCare.gov website. In late November, only about 800 Mississippians had enrolled for coverage through the site.
