National Signing Day may be tomorrow, but Ole Miss is celebrating early with a major flip.
Oak Grove QB John Rhys Plumlee was committed to UGA all season long, but yesterday, he announced his intention to stay in state and sign with Ole Miss.

A 4-star recruit according to 24/7 Sports, Plumlee led Oak Grove to the 6A state title game last season and finished the year with 33 TD passes and just 3 interceptions. As a dual-threat QB, Plumlee added 19 rushing TDs while falling just short of 1,500 rushing yards.
Check out Plumlee’s highlight tape below:
The 6’1, 185 pound QB committed to UGA in June, but he kept his options open after the program asked him to “blueshirt”. That means he would not have immediately been awarded a scholarship upon arrival in Athens.
As a two-sport athlete, Plumlee will also play baseball at Ole Miss.
Plumlee is the second 4-star QB in the Rebels 2019 class, alongside Grant Tisdale from Allen, Texas. Ahead of Wednesday, Ole Miss has the 24th ranked class in the country, and the 11th ranked class in the SEC.
25 players have signed their letters of intent and 11 have already enrolled at Ole Miss, so tomorrow may be a relatively quiet day in Oxford. The one name to keep an eye on is WR Jonathan Mingo, a 4-star WR from Brandon, Mississippi.
Mingo committed to the Rebels back in July but chose not to sign during the early signing period, and he has taken recent visits to Mississippi State and Georgia.
