The heat index is rising to dangerous levels across Mississippi today.
The National Weather Service has issued an ‘excessive heat warning’ and peak heat index values of 110F-117F are expected.
Along with the warning, the NWS advises you to avoid being outside for prolonged periods of time as it could lead to a heat stroke. If you are going to be outside, make sure you are staying hydrated.
