JACKSON, Miss. – You can already hunt and fish in Mississippi, but come November Mississippians will vote to decide if they want to amend the Mississippi constitution to guarantee hunting and fishing as a right.
“Nothing will change as far as what your requirements will be, as far as having a license, bag limits or season. You will still need to abide by all of that,” said State Representative Scott Bounds. “If the voters pass it, it will affirm their right to hunt and fish in the state of Mississippi.”
The Mississippi legislature voted on the proposal in 2012. It will need majority support to be adopted.
