Nothing Sacred for Scandalous Scammers who Search for Sympathetic Donors to Jessica’s Death Fund

PANOLA COUNTY, Miss. – The family of the Panola County teen burned alive is asking supporters not to donate to a Give Forward account set up in Jessica Chambers’ name.

That account has been created by someone with the user name Janet Lee.  “We do not know this person.  This is a scam,” wrote Chambers’ sister Amanda Prince on the Facebook page “Justice for Jessica,” that she set up in hopes of turning up leads for investigators.

If you wish to donate to the family, a legitimate GoFundMe account was started to help the family with expenses.  That account “Donations for Jessica” has already received more than $8,500 donations.

Police responding to reports of a car on fire Saturday night found Jessica walking near it on fire too.  Her father said she had been hit over the head and lighter fluid was poured down her throat and nose.  An autopsy indicated she died from severe burns that covered 98 percent of her body.  Police have been reviewing Jessica’s phone records to help piece together the last hours of her life. “It’s still hard, we are still waiting to hear something.  I know they have gotten some good leads and everything at the sheriff’s department,” Ben Chambers said.

Jessica will be laid to rest Saturday.
