ABERDEEN, Miss. — It is going to be 40 months in prison for a North Carolina man involved in a multi-state contraband cigarette trafficking ring in 2012. He was also found guilty of money laundering.
Calvin Phelps was sentenced Monday in Aberdeen. Prosecutors say the trafficking ring cost Mississippi and states where the trafficking took place about $4 Million. Phelps will have to back $5.1 million dollars in restitution.
