As residents in central Mississippi prepare to head to the polls for a runoff next Tuesday, nonprofit Mississippi Votes has launched an information hotline to ensure those exercising their civic duty are properly supported.
The hotline operates year-round but will be expanded on November 26 to specifically support those in the state’s central district who will vote in a runoff for the Mississippi Supreme Court. Mississippi Votes’ hotline will focus on helping voters in the following counties participating in the election: Bolivar, Claiborne, Copiah, Hinds, Holmes, Humphreys, Issaquena, Jefferson, Kemper, Lauderdale, Leake, Madison, Neshoba, Newton, Noxubee, Rankin, Scott, Sharkey, Sunflower, Warren, Washington, Yazoo County
“Runoff elections are a powerful reminder that every vote counts,” Mississippi Votes field manager Jarrius Adams said. “When no candidate secures a majority, even the smallest voter turnout can decide the outcome, showing how much power each ballot holds. Our hope is that voters feel empowered to show up at the polls again next week but in greater numbers.”

A dedicated team of organization staff and attorneys will be on call through the hotline to aid voters. Anyone who may face challenges at the polls is encouraged to call.
“As we approach the runoff elections on November 26, your voice remains essential. Every vote counts, and every decision made at the ballot box brings us closer to a stronger, more equitable Mississippi,” Mississippi Votes executive director Arekia S. Bennett-Scott said. “Remember, our voter information hotline is here for you – whether you need assistance finding your polling place, understanding your ballot, or navigating the voting process.”
