GRENADA, Miss.–The father of a National Football League player was killed in Mississippi on his way to see his son play at the end of last week.
Thomas Williams, the dad of Dan Williams of the Arizona Cardinals, was traveling on I-55S Friday afternoon when he had a wreck.
The Arizona Cardinals played the New Orleans Saints on Sunday and he was headed down from Memphis for the game.
Dan’s mother and sister were also both in the car and according to NFL.com the mother is in a Jackson, Miss. hospital.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol tells the Clarion Ledger the wreck happened three miles south of Grenada.
No details about what caused the crash have been released.
