On the first day of 2025, three people are dead after being shot at a gas station in Mississippi.
The shooting happened just before 6 a.m. at the Clark’s gas station in the town of State Line, Washington County Sheriff’s Department officials told WKRG-TV.
According to authorities, a male suspect apparently shot the clerk’s boyfriend as the boyfriend was entering the store. The suspect then gunned down a customer and took their wallet.
After the female clerk locked herself in a back room, the suspect broke through the door, forcing her to open the cash register and the safe. Once she complied, officials say the suspect shot her in the face and killed her.
Police are searching for the suspect accused of the killings, noting he was wearing a mask and gloves during the crimes. The suspect also apparently stole a black Toyota Camry from a customer, ditching it four miles away from the store on Knobtown Road.
Law enforcement officials say the manhunt is currently focused in the Knobtown community in Greene County, but a wider search will be conducted if necessary.
