JACKSON, Miss.- It’s summer time which means many of you have already gone or are going to hit the road to take a road trip somewhere, but cheap gasoline and cheap camping sites weren’t enough incentive to bring other travelers to the Magnolia state.
Mississippi came in dead last in a recent ranking of the best states for summer road trips, according to a WalletHub report.
The report said the state ranks low for traffic conditions, safety, weather conditions and fun/scenic attractions.
The top five summer road trips were Oregon, Idaho, Minnesota, Utah and Washington. They all received higher rankings for traffic, safety and weather conditions.
Not far behind the top five were Nevada, New York, California, Ohio and Colorado.
The bottom five were Alaska, West Virginia, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Mississippi.
