The “Mindbender Mansion” exhibit will soon open its doors at the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science (MMNS) – promising to put visitors’ brainpower to the test by offering an array of bewildering puzzles and challenges.
Opening on January 18 and running through May 4, the unique display will help kick off the museum’s celebration of its 25th year of operations at LeFleur’s Bluff State Park in Jackson. The exhibit will be put on in collaboration with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP), and the Mindbender Society, along with mind-bending mascot and fictional host “Mr. E.”
Angel Rohnke, MMNS Director, says math, science, and technology educational content are woven into the exhibit.
“At the heart of Mindbender Mansion is the essential scientific task of problem-solving and critical thinking needed to master the activities in this fun and unconventional exhibit,” Rohnke said.
The “wonderfully puzzling world” is curated and guided by the wacky Mr. E., master brainteaser and puzzler extraordinaire. Attractions also include brainteasers and interactive challenges for all ages, “guaranteed to test the brain power and problem-solving skills of even the most experienced puzzlers,” according to MMNS.
Mindbender Mansion was produced and is toured by the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry while being sponsored locally by MDWFP, the MMNS Foundation, Feild Co-Operative Association, and the Walker Foundation.
