LEFLORE COUNTY, Miss.–A new case of West Nile Virus in a human has shown up in the Magnolia State.
The Mississippi Department of Health reports the new case is from Leflore County.
This makes the 8 total cases in Mississippi for 2013 and one death which is way below the 247 cases last year that resulted in five deaths.
Symptoms of the WNV are often mild and may include fever, headache, nausea, and/or muscle weakness according to the MDH.
