NETTLETON, Miss. – A third person has died after shots were fired in Nettleton Wednesday morning.
Investigators say the shooting was apparently the result of a domestic dispute that appeared to have started at a local manufacturing plant. State troopers had said four people were inside a truck when one pulled a gun and shot a passenger, who eventually fell out of the truck. The shooter then allegedly turned to another passenger inside the truck and shot him. He fled, but was chased down by the gunman and shot again.
A Nettleton police officer exchanged gunfire with the suspect, but was not hurt. No names were immediately released; and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is handling the case.
