HARRISON COUNTY, Miss.- The American Humanist Association’s Appignani Humanist Legal Center wants the nativity scene in Harrison county taken down.
They sent a letter to officials on Wednesday requesting it be removed from inside the Harrison County Courthouse. They said that if it is not the city would face a lawsuit.
The Harrison County board attorney Tim Holleman says he is trying to learn more about the law on the matter in order to effectively make a case. The display will stay up until the board of supervisors decides what to do.
The group apposed the the nativity says that by displaying that or any other religious symbols the government is showing favoritism toward one religion reports WLOX.
