YAZOO CITY, Miss.–Just what Jeffrey Williams, 32, was killed with, Yazoo City Police are still trying to determine. Williams was found Monday night in the middle of a city street, stabbed in the chest.
Police have someone in custody, but were not ready to release a name Tuesday.
They did tell media that Williams was stabbed, but they were not sure with what.
“There’s further testing being done at the medical examiner’s office to determine exactly what the weapon used was,” said Coroner Ricky Shivers. He said it was definitely not a knife.
Shivers said he has seen murders before where somebody was stabbed with something other than a knife.
“In the 24 years as Yazoo County coroner I have, but it’s been a long time.”
Williams body was at the state crime lab for an autopsy.
