CLARKSDALE, Miss.–Four murders in one week for a city the size of Clarksdale makes it sound pretty rough. Three of the murders happened in one double shooting, where one of the victims was seven months pregnant.
The latest killing happened about 9:30 Saturday night when Derrick Hampton, 29, was shot on Ritchie St.
Because officers from the Clarksdale Police Dept. and the Coahoma County Sheriff’s Dept. were both close by, they were able to get two persons of interest in custody, reported WMC-TV.
Police did not have a motive for the killing.
Earlier in the week Alton Bruce and Candice Roper were found shot to death in a house. Roper was seven month pregnant and the MBI and Clarksdale Police are still trying to find who did it.
Roper had four other kids.
