ABB Group, a Swedish-Swiss multinational electrical engineering corporation, will be doubling its footprint in north Mississippi.
The company announced on Monday that it will be investing $40 million into its Senatobia location to meet increasing demand for advanced low-voltage circuit breakers from customers across North America. With the investment, ABB will be constructing a new facility, which is expected to open in 2026, while adding 122 new employees to the local workforce.

“Economic development in Mississippi is thriving, and this latest win from ABB continues that trend,” Governor Tate Reeves said Monday. “The reasons companies like ABB continuously choose to invest private capital and create more jobs in Mississippi are crystal clear: our inviting business environment and pro-business mindset. Mississippi has momentum, and this investment is further proof of that.”
The Mississippi expansion is part of an overall $120 million investment by the company. The other $80 million is going to the construction of a 320,000-square-foot production facility in Selmer, Tennessee, and 50 new jobs to staff the center.
“Demand is increasing steadily for advanced electrification technologies, driven by growth in key sectors including data centers and utilities. Today’s announcement will support our future growth in the US, ABB’s largest global market,” Morten Wierod, ABB’s Chief Executive Officer, said when the company announced the expansion in March. “Our new facilities in Selmer and Senatobia will keep our US customers at the cutting edge of the energy transition, and help them meet their performance, productivity, and energy efficiency goals.”
ABB’s Senatobia plant manufactures power circuit breakers to provide a secure power supply for other businesses, including data centers. In 2023, the north Mississippi location became the company’s first U.S. facility to integrate technology that will achieve carbon-neutral manufacturing.
