Brent Rooker, the junior who finished the 2017 season batting .415 not only the best in the Magnolia State, but the best in the South Eastern Conference.
Monday, Rooker was presented with the SEC player of the year award, then not long afterward, was presented the Boo Ferriss trophy for his outstanding 2017 season. Rooker’s 20 home runs and 73 RBI made him the most standout player Mississippi has to offer this season.
Good news for him (and for Bulldog fans) this season isn’t over. The Bulldogs are in Hoover, Alabama this week for the SEC tournament.
