Mississippi State finally looked like the big play, deep-threat offense that Joe Moorhead promised in the offseason last Saturday, but are those results something that the Bulldogs can keep putting up going forward? Coach Luke Getsy thinks you can expect to see those kind of numbers going forward.
Talking with quarterback Nick Fitzgerald, it’s obvious the senior gained a lot of confidence from his performance, which earned him an SEC Offensive Player of the Week for the sixth time in his career. I asked Fitzgerald what changed between the LSU game where he struggled to last Saturday where he was so efficient, and he gave an interesting answer.
Fitzgerald will definitely be looking to keep up that pace this weekend against Louisiana Tech and their superstar pass rusher, Jaylon Ferguson. It will be interesting to see if the Bulldogs have found their place offensively, or was the A&M perfomance a one time shot. We’ll talk about this in depth tomorrow on SportsTalk Missisippi.
