It’s Mississippi State’s turn to face Alabama, as the Crimson Tide have mowed down their previous nine opponents in impressive fashion. If the Bulldogs are to pull off what would be the biggest upset in college football this season, it will take a nearly flawless game in all three phases. Coach Joe Moorhead knows his team doesn’t have to be perfect, but they’ll have to be “pretty darn close.”
Mississippi State has not defeated Alabama since 2007, and has only beaten a Nick Saban coached team once in his career. With the Crimson Tide performing at such a high level, it may well take that perfect game to even have a chance for the upset, let alone to be able to actually pull it off. MSU will enter the game with some confidence, coming off back to back solid offensive performances and boasting the top defense in the SEC. We’ll talk a lot more about this all week long on SportsTalk Mississippi and the Thunder & Lightning Podcast.
