With Monday’s confirmation that 264 Ole Miss students have tested positive for the coronavirus, Mississippi State Medical Association (MSMA) President Dr. Mark Horne joined the most recent episode of The Gallo Show to talk about the virus spreading throughout the state’s universities.
“I read reports over the weekend that on bid day at one of our universities, some of the fraternities threw caution to the wind and acted the way they always do—gathering together without masks, having big parties,” Horne said. “I hope that people did it right, but I think the next five to ten days are going to tell us.”
Southern Miss also reported their most recent numbers yesterday, seeing 18 positive cases out of 199 tests. Mississippi State has not updated its case count since September 4.
