On Wednesday, the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 6,592 more cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi.
The latest report brings the state’s total number of cases to 572,694. With the confirmation of 11 additional deaths, 10,503 Mississippians have passed away from the virus. Also according to the report, there are currently 246 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.
State Health Officer Dr. Thomas Dobbs went to Twitter to share further statistics regarding the Omicron variant.
Can vaccinated folks get COVID? Yes – but it’s less likely and they are far less likely to be hospitalized or to die from COVID.
