In its ongoing effort to prevent overdose fatalities, the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) is offering free naloxone kits to residents.
Naloxone, also known by other brand names such as Narcan and Kloxxado, is a life-saving medication that can reverse an overdose of opioids such as heroin, fentanyl, and prescription opioid medications.
Those at an increased risk or those who know someone at an increased risk for opioid overdose are encouraged to carry naloxone and keep it at home.
