On Thursday, the Mississippi State Department of Health confirmed 3,902 new COVID-19 cases.
The seven-day update brings the state’s total number of recorded cases since the onset of the pandemic to 974,487. With 40 additional deaths, 13,191 Mississippians have passed away as a result of the virus. Additionally, there are currently 135 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.
Mississippi is currently averaging 624 daily cases, which is a 9% decrease from two weeks ago.
