New COVID-19 case numbers in Mississippi continue to move in the right direction.
The latest report of 348 new cases—the fifth straight day under 500—brings the state’s total up to 291,222. With the confirmation of *24 additional deaths, 6,577 Mississippians have now passed away from the virus.
*MSDH Note: 11 COVID-19 related deaths occurred between January 27 and February 15, identified from death certificate reports.
If current trends continue, COVID-19 hospitalizations could soon drop below 500.
As of Monday, an estimated 273,437 Mississippians have recovered from COVID-19.
