MSDH confirms 1,271 new COVID-19 cases, 17 deaths

For the second straight day, the Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting over 1,200 new cases of COVID-19. 

Today’s report of 1,271 new cases brings the state’s total up to 130,665. With the confirmation of 17 additional deaths, 3,514 Mississippis have now passed away from the virus. 

*MSDH Note: 1 COVID-19 related death occurred November 5, identified from death certificate reports.

Overall hospitalizations saw another increase in today’s report following a warning from the MSDH that availability across the state is running out.

Wednesday, Governor Tate Reeves amended and extended his “Safe Recovery” order to include the following 15 counties.

Benton, Carroll, Covington, DeSoto, Forrest, Harrison, Humphreys, Jackson, Lamar, Lauderdale, Leflore, Lee, Marshall, Rankin, and Yalobusha.
