JACKSON, Miss.- The Mississippi Association of Administrators announced the Superintendent of the Year in a conference that took place in the Capitol City on Tuesday.
The award went to Ray Morgigno, the current superintendent forthe Pearl School District in Rankin County.
“Its a great honor, I’m just very appreciative,” said Morgigno. “We have some wonderful people that work across the state and we are just real proud.”
The announcement came during a luncheon at the Hilton hotel in Jackson where educators and administrators have been meeting for their annual 2016 Fall Meeting and Leadership Conference.
“I hope to work with everyone, that’s what we have to is work together. From superintendents working across lines, to working with our elected officials,” said Morgigno.
The announcement included a presentation on Mr. Morgigno’s work and why he is deserving of the award.
