The Mississippi motorcyclist accused of shooting at officers in Olive Branch early Monday morning has been brought back to the Magnolia State after being captured two states to the north in Missouri.
The Olive Branch Police Department reported Monday night at around 8:20 p.m. that Colby Alan Towles, 34, was located and arrested by the Springfield Police Department. He was in the process of being extradited to Mississippi at that point.
Towles is said to have pulled up on his Harley Davidson motorcycle during a traffic stop on Highway 302 near the intersection of Craft-Goodman Frontage Road at approximately 1:43 a.m. He began yelling at
officers before speeding off and making a U-turn. On his way back, he fired shots. Police returned gunfire, but the suspect was able to get away.
No one was injured in the incident. Towles is facing two counts of aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit a crime. He will appear in court on April 4.
The suspect’s girlfriend, Sarah Skriver, has also been arrested in connection to the case. She is charged with with accessory after the fact and is accused of hindering law enforcement to help Towles escape police.
