Last week, a 10-month-old baby was found dead inside of a car in Jackson County. Now, the baby’s mother has been charged with murder.
Sheriff Mike Ezell confirmed that 28-year-old Elizabeth Marie Barhonovich, of Vancleave, has been charged with charged with Second Degree Murder. The sheriff went on to say that the 10-month old, Kash Barhonovich, died after being left in his mother’s vehicle for an unknown length of time while it was parked in the heat at her home on Arthur Avenue.
Preliminary autopsy results show the cause of death is consistent with hyperthermia.
Barhonovich was booked into the Jackson County Adult Detention Center and is being held without bond.
Her initial court appearance is set for tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m.
