After it was announced yesterday that a federal court has ordered the City of Jackson to never again act on its own to restrict the right to openly carry a firearm, director of the Mississippi Justice Institute Aaron Rice stopped by the studio today to talk about the lawsuit.
According to Rice, the lawsuit actually went along smoothly as the city knew they went against the constitution with Lumumba’s executive order.
“I think the handwriting was on the wall,” he explained. “The City of Jackson was a defendant in the lawsuit, and I’ve never seen this happen in my legal career. When they answered our complaint, they took our position. They agreed with us in the lawsuit.”
