Becky Williams is just over six months into her tenure as Miss Mississippi, and the Purvis native will look to win yet another crown when the Miss America competition begins this week in Orlando, Fla.
Williams, who finished second runner-up in 2023 before garnering the title of Miss Mississippi in June, said during her first radio interview after the victory in Vicksburg that she already had her sights set on Miss America, noting a complete overhaul in her preparation process.
“My mindset was completely different this year going into the competition. Rather than preparing for the role of Miss Mississippi, I’ve been preparing myself for the role of Miss America,” Williams said on Good Things with Rebecca Turner. “So, when it comes to prepping as Miss Mississippi for Miss America, my mindset is going to stay the same.”
Since that interview, Williams has stayed busy with mock interviews, marketing meetings, public appearances, and speaking engagements. She’s also been hard at work furthering her community service initiatives called “Make A Move” and “Boogie with Becky,” both aimed at helping Mississippians of all ages find more ways to get active.
While Williams gets ready to vie for Miss America, plenty of Mississippians are getting ready to support her throughout the process. Here’s everything to know about the Miss America 2025 competition.
