Are you a business owner or entrepreneur looking to get your product on the shelves of some of the country’s biggest retail stores?
If so, now’s your chance.
Walmart has begun accepting applications for its annual “Open Call” event, which allows people to pitch their products to be sold at Walmart, Sam’s Club, or any of their online services. Applications are open until Monday, July 15.
“Open Call is part of Walmart’s $350 billion commitment to bolster U.S. manufacturing by sourcing shelf-ready products that are made, grown, or assembled in the U.S.,” a press release from Walmart noted.
Since its launch in 2014, Open Call has provided thousands of small and medium-sized businesses with the chance to become Walmart suppliers and by default, reach more customers. According to statistics released by the company, Walmart serves nearly 37 million customers every day and more than 255 million customers every week.
If an application is approved, entrepreneurs or business owners will be offered a one-on-one pitch meeting between Sept. 24-25, 2024, with a chance to secure a “golden ticket” – meaning Walmart will offer a deal to sell the product in stores or online.
At last year’s Open Call event, Walmart and Sam’s Club merchants heard over 1,000 pitches from more than 700 businesses hailing from all 50 states.
