Mississippi country singer Colin Stough had one of the “biggest dreams” of his career come true over the weekend, getting to take the stage at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
Stough, a Gattman native who first made a name for himself through a lengthy run on American Idol season 21, shared the mecca’s Saturday lineup with Steve Earle, Meghan Patrick, Special Consensus, and Jackson Dean.
“Wow. What an amazing night. I honestly don’t think I could ever put into words how this moment felt,” Stough wrote in a Facebook post after the performance. “This has been one of the biggest dreams of my career to play on this stage ever since I was knee high to a grasshopper. Such a beautiful moment went down at the opry this weekend. Thank you [Grand Ole Opry] for giving me the chance to play on one of the biggest stages in the history of music.”
Some of Stough’s songs that have surpassed the million-stream mark include “Bad Day,” “Sober,” “‘Til the Day One Does,” and “Dancing on My Own.” He also released an EP called “Lookin’ for Home” this summer.
Before his performance at the Grand Ole Opry, Stough was wrapping up several shows in Canada. He will round out the year with stops in Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Des Moines, and Omaha, performing alongside American Idol season 22 runner-up Will Moseley.
