Celtic Fest

September 5-7

Celebrate your Celtic heritage at the 23rd annual Celtic Fest. It takes place at the Ag Museum Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. There will be seven stages of music featuring international talent. There will be arts and crafts vendors, blacksmiths, food vendors, dance classes, and activities for the kids.  There will also be a Highland Games event Saturday afternoon to watch athletes compete in competitions of strength and agility derived from Scottish tradition.

Gulf Coast Blues and Heritage Festival

PASCAGOULA

September 6

The Mississippi Gulf Coast Blues Commission presents the 23rd Annual Blues & Heritage Festival. It starts at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Jackson County fairgrounds. This year’s headliners include Mel Waiters, Jeff Floyd, Omar Cunningham, Big Al Carson (Bourbon St. Legend), Terry Write, Arthur Foy, and the Pink Magnolias. There will also be arts and crafts vendors along with blues venders. The music will be in a covered pavilion and will take place rain or shine.

Fire & Feast BBQ Competition and Festival

YAZOO CITY

September 5-6

BBQ Masters meet on the Yazoo County Fairgrounds for the 4th annual Fire & Feast BBQ competition and festival. Friday there will be musical performances featuring headliner Bobby Rush. The BBQ competition begins on Saturday and it is sanctioned by the Memphis Barbecue Network. Also Saturday is free admission and there will be fun activities for kids.
