A Mississippi state trooper has been placed on administrative leave after being charged with sexual battery.
Zachary Reshad McCroy was taken into custody in Jackson on Thursday, per a report from WLBT, before bonding out at $100,000. A spokesperson with the Mississippi Department of Public Safety would not provide much comment but told the TV station that McCroy was facing “serious allegations.”
For the time being, McCroy is required to wear a GPS monitor as the situation is being investigated.
McCroy was named “Top Cop” in 2024 for the Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop C Enforcement Division.
No further details into the allegations against McCroy have been released at this time.
